Cutera’s truSculpt is a non-invasive body contouring treatment designed to reduce localised areas of unwanted fat without surgery. It can be used on different areas of the face and body, including smaller areas such as beneath the chin and larger areas such as the abdomen.

truSculpt uses controlled radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the deeper layers of tissue and target fat cells beneath the skin. The treated fat cells are damaged by the heat and are then gradually processed and cleared by the body over the weeks following treatment.

The technology allows treatment to be adapted to different body areas and individual concerns. Rather than being a weight-loss treatment, truSculpt is designed to improve body contours by targeting specific pockets of fat that can remain despite a healthy lifestyle.

Results develop progressively as the body processes the treated fat cells, with further improvement becoming visible in the weeks following treatment.

The Stockbridge clinic

truSculpt in Edinburgh

truSculpt is a non-surgical fat reduction treatment for people looking to improve the shape and contour of specific areas without liposuction or significant recovery time.

The treatment can be used for larger areas, such as the abdomen, as well as smaller areas of localised fat, including beneath the chin.

At The Stockbridge Clinic, the area is assessed before treatment so that the approach can be tailored to your anatomy and the degree of change you would like to achieve.

truSculpt may be used as a standalone treatment when localised fat is the primary concern. It can also be combined with truFlex where improving underlying muscle tone and definition would complement fat reduction.

Before and after truSculpt treatment

During treatment, radiofrequency energy is delivered to the selected area, creating controlled heating within the tissue. The temperature is carefully managed throughout the session to target unwanted fat while maintaining patient comfort.

The treated area may feel warm during and immediately after the procedure. As truSculpt is non-invasive, there are no incisions or injections and little disruption to normal daily activities.

Results are not immediate. Following treatment, the body gradually processes the affected fat cells, so changes in the contour of the treated area develop progressively over the following weeks.

At The Stockbridge Clinic, truSculpt can be combined with truFlex when both unwanted fat and muscle definition are contributing to the appearance of an area.

Our Stockbridge Definition Protocol combines one truSculpt treatment with four truFlex treatments for one area, allowing us to address both fat and underlying muscle as part of a personalised body contouring plan.

Concerns this will help

Abdominal Fat

The abdomen is a common area for stubborn fat to accumulate. Where this is caused by a localised layer of subcutaneous fat,

Localised Fat

Localised pockets of fat can remain even when someone maintains a healthy diet and exercises regularly. Genetics, hormones, age and individual patterns of fat distribution can all influence where the body stores fat.

Double Chin

Fat beneath the chin can affect the definition between the face and neck and may occur regardless of overall body weight.

FAQs

Most people can return to their usual routine following treatment, including exercise. Your therapist will provide individual aftercare advice if there is anything you should temporarily avoid.

Preparation is generally straightforward. You will be given guidance before your appointment based on the area being treated and your individual treatment plan.

Potentially. Some people reach a stable weight but retain particular pockets of fat that do not reflect the changes elsewhere in their body. A consultation can establish whether the remaining concern is localised fat and whether truSculpt is appropriate.

truSculpt can be performed throughout the year. As results develop progressively, some patients choose to begin treatment in advance of a holiday, event or other personal goal rather than waiting until immediately beforehand.

Yes. truSculpt can be suitable for both men and women who want to address specific areas of localised fat. Treatment is based on your individual anatomy and goals rather than gender.
