Mounjaro

Mounjaro is a prescription medication used to manage type 2 diabetes. It contains the active ingredient tirzepatide and works by improving insulin sensitivity and regulating blood sugar levels. Mounjaro also helps with weight loss by reducing appetite. It’s administered as a weekly injection.

Wegovy

Wegovy (semaglutide) is a prescription medication used for weight management in adults with obesity or those overweight with related health conditions. It works by mimicking the GLP-1 hormone, which regulates appetite and food intake. Administered as a weekly subcutaneous injection, Wegovy helps reduce hunger, promote fullness, and support long-term weight loss when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. It is also approved for managing type 2 diabetes under the name Ozempic.

Face to Face

Unlike some other services in this industry, we will never prescribe based on remote consultations. Instead, we will see each of our patients in an initial hour-long face to face consultation at our aesthetic clinic in Edinburgh, where the treatment is discussed in detail and any questions are answered. We understand that there are many reasons for a patient to approach us for consultation for medical weight management and it is important that we make sure that these treatments are the safest decision for you.

Support

We only work with a small number of patients each year and work hard to develop a robust and trusted doctor-patient relationship. We believe that we are in this journey with you and our follow up is comprehensive and individualised. We have designed our own tailored mobile application for this purpose. Each patient has direct access to their prescribing doctor and we operate a 24/7 emergency phone line.

Medicine Choice

We only prescribe drugs that are  peer-reviewed, evidence-based, and licensed. We work with reputable pharmacies. We do not prescribe off-license versions of these medications that are used for diabetes such as Ozempic (the brand name for the active agent semaglutide that is licensed for diabetes treatment). This is due to the risk of impacting the supply of these medicines to patients who need them to manage their diabetes.

Holistic approach

Every patient’s weight loss journey is complex and unique, and the process that has led to consulting for medical weight management looks very different for each person. Whilst these medicines are revolutionising obesity care, we believe that they are only one aspect of the solution. Every patient we work with is offered an inclusive assessment by a psychotherapy nurse who specialises in nutrition.

Dr Ben Taylor-Davies

Co-founder and Clinical Director
As lead Aesthetic Doctor at the clinic, Dr Ben is a multi-award-winning aesthetic medical doctor. Working as a national trainer for Acquisition Aesthetics, and Key Opinion Leader for Cutera UK, Dr Ben is known for his artistry and integrity. He leads the clinic with clinical excellence and ensures every patient feels empowered and educated about their options.

Dr Jack Henderson

Co-founder and Managing Director
As co-founder and Managing Director, Dr Jack Henderson has been working within the clinic team since 2021. In a non-patient facing position and with an interest in health technology, system design and health care structures; Jack works within The Stockbridge Clinic to guide patient safety, regulation and operations. Outside the clinic, Jack is a NHS doctor with a background in Emergency Medicine and Ophthalmology.

Dr Sally Chapple

Lead Preventative Medicine Doctor
Dr Sally Chapple is a dedicated member of the team focusing on medical weight management. Supporting complex patients with weight management medications, Dr Chapple has several years of experience working in The Stockbridge Clinic. With a particular interest in lifestyle and preventative medicine she takes a holistic approach to helping patients achieve sustainable health and wellness. As a member of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Chapple believes in combining evidence-based treatments with personalised care to address the root causes of weight concerns, empowering patients to make lasting changes. Outside her work at the clinic she is a NHS doctor.

Clinic Manager
Karen Bernard is our clinic manager and an advanced skin therapist. With over 14 years experience in the wellness industry, Karen oversees the running of the clinic, ensuring every patient journey is seamlessly tailored to their needs. She also provides bespoke skin treatments at the clinic, ensuring the health and vitality of every patients skin on their aesthetic medical and wellness journey with us.

Dentist
Dr Brian Quinn is a dentist holding an advanced certificate in aesthetic procedures. Brian brings a comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy and a deep commitment to personalised patient care.
